The purpose with a detailed risk assessment of noise causing hearing damage is to:
- Assess and make visible the risk a worker has for hearing damage caused by noise
- Act as foundation of decisions at deviation management in connection with exceeding hearing-harmful noise
- Form a basis of being able to execute a risk based priority of areas/jobs/vehicles to carry out noise reducing measures
- Verify that the AMS regime concerning requirements to the use of hearing protection and limits of hours ensures that no workers are exposed to hearing-harmful noise
- Identify needs to selective health surveillance (hearing controls) and information to exposed worker categories
